Art - Documentaries:
‘A Touch of Colour’ is a 12-minute video, showing me at work on a painting – The Track
– from the first rolled-out line of plasticine through to the completed painting.
The video was made in 2004 by Catalin Brylla, who was then a Media Studies student at
Royal Holloway College, London and many hours and days of filming and editing,
including several location shoots, were done, before this film was finally ‘in the can’.
Since then, the video has been screened throughout the world at various film festivals,
including: 100% Art (Tel Aviv, Israel); Assim Vivemos (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil); The Other
Film Festival (Melbourne, Australia); Un Minuto del Otro (Santiago de Chile, Chile) and
Picture This Film Festival (Calgary, Canada).
‘A Touch of Colour’ is available online here.
Catalin Brylla has since gone on to gain a doctorate in Media and Communications from
Goldsmiths College at the University of London. He now lectures in Film and TV studies
at the University of Bournemouth. His website can be found here.
In 2018 Catalin Brylla completed a new film about my work, which was five years in the
making, entitled ‘The Terry Fragments’. He has created a dedicated website for the
project, here.
